The Boyd County Lady Spartans traveled to Creighton on Tuesday September 15th for a triangular. The Lady Spartans started the evening matched up against Creighton and were victorious. The game went three sets 25-12, 22-25, and 25-18. Senior Lauryn Hoffman served the ball 22 times while earning the team 14 service points. Junior Rylie Haun also contributed 10 service points. Senior Audrey Mohr had 8 kills in 15 attempts hitting, followed by Junior Daydra Zeisler with 5 kills in 16 attempts. Junior Haylie Carson had 12 digs and Sophomore Amelia Hoffman had 15 digs to help the Lady Spartans set up their offense.
The second match of the night, the Lady Spartans were defeated by Summerland in 2 sets with the scores of 25-27 and 24-26. Although the Lady Spartans lost, according to Head Coach Janet Brown, “ the girls never gave up and played with intensity.” Senior Audrey Mohr and Junior Rylie Haun led the team in service points with 6 points each. Senior Lauryn Hoffman and Senior Audrey Mohr both led the team with 3 kills each.
The Lady Spartans will enter into the week of September 21st with a Triangular at St. Mary’s with North Central and will end their week with the Elkhorn Valley Invitational Tournament on Saturday September 26th. The Lady Spartans will host Niobrara Verdigre and Summerland in a Varsity triangular on Tuesday, September 29th.
