On September 3rd the Spartan JV team opened their season against the Wynot Blue Devils.
A talented Wynot program always plays sound volleyball. The first set was a back and forth battle with neither team pulling away. Boyd County prevailed with a close 25-22 set win. Set two saw good serving led by Rylie Haun. The Spartans improved their passing which led to running an offense. The Spartans garnered a large lead and didn't look back, taking the set 25-14. A third set was played to grab more playing time for the young Spartans. Another tight battle would ensue, with Wynot coming out on top, 24-26.
Serving was led by Rylie Haun with 5 aces, followed by Jenny Goesch with 4 and Haylie Carson with 3. Rylie distributed the ball well to the attackers. Leading the attacking was Bentley Adams and Amelia Hoffman with 5 kills each, Haylie with 3 and Kiryn Kayl, Jenny Goesch and Leah Jockens each recording 2 kills.
