The Boyd County Junior High football team traveled to Springview to take on the North Central Knights, dropping a tight 30-34 game. The Spartans controlled the first half with Ben Schmitz scoring on two TD runs and a PAT run. This gave Boyd County a 14-0 lead.
The Knights ran back the second half kickoff, but Schmitz answered with a kickoff return of his own. Preston Brewer added the PAT run to give the Spartans a 22-6 lead. After the Knights scored two more times, Schmitz took off on another scoring run and PAT run to give BC their final 30 points.
North Central scored two more times to take a four point lead, but left a couple of minutes on the clock. Boyd County drove down the field. North Central took control of the game with s fate sealing interception and ran out the clock.
The Spartans have a week off and close out the season at St. Mary's on October 10.
