Spartan Junior High Drop Game to Summerland
The Junior High team opened the season with a 8-52 loss to Summerland. The Spartans played tough on defense, forcing the Bobcats into several long drives. However the Spartan defense could not get loose until late in the game. Hudson Hoffman scored on a long run late in the game and Cash Sinclair added the 2 point conversion.
Following the game, the Bobcats and Spartans allowed younger players to work on offense and defense against one another. Several 7th Grade players showed promise in this situation.
Junior High Defeats Niobrara/Verdigre 48-26
The Spartan Junior High Football team bounded back from their initial loss to hand the Cougars their first loss of the season. The offense looked much better, with several players finding the endzone. Hudson Hoffman scored 3 touchdowns and added a PAT run. Cash Sinclair and Barrett Koenig each had 2 scores. Charlie Adams scored o a run, as did Will Nelson. Nelson also hooked up with Ben Tiefenthaler for a PAT pass
The entire Spartan team got involved in the game, with several younger players showing great improvement. The Spartans will host the Stuart Broncos on Monday, Aug. 21.
