On a chilly and windy day the Boyd County Spartans played host to the West Holt Huskies in an afternoon gridiron game. The Spartans forced a West Holt turnover on the very first possession and were moving the ball down the field before a lost fumble ended their own possession. West Holt struck first after that and wouldn't look back the rest of the game. West Holt would go on to win with a final score of 48-8.
Jory Zeisler paced the defense with 14 total tackles and 2 tackles for loss. Kolt Boettcher lead the offensive charge with 102 yards rushing and 47 yards receiving. A 26 yard receiving touchdown for Zander Kluckman came courtesy of an Ethan McBride throw. Zac Rihanek then caught the following two-point conversion try from McBride.
The Spartans will play their final home game this week as they will welcome the Bulldogs from Ainsworth for a 3PM kickoff game on Friday October 18th.
