BC Cross Country Runners Bring Home More Hardware From Neligh

Neligh was the destination for the Boyd County Cross Country on Monday, September 12 as they took to the course at the Antelope Country Club. It was a successful day for many of the runners.
In the varsity girls division, both Natasha Zeisler and Jada Harmon found themselves placing in the medals. This makes both girls 3 for 3 on the season; 3 meets, 3 medals each. Zeisler, senior, placed a season high 2nd place with a 21:28 time. Freshman Harmon placed 18th with a 25:19 time.
The varsity boys also saw two runners on the medals stand at the end of their race. Freshman Will Nelson continues his top 5 finishes for the season with 4th place in a 17:50 time. Freshman Ethan Zeisler found himself in 18th place with a 20:08 time in his first competition of the season. Brook Strom, freshman, placed 26th with a 21:16 time. Sophomores Grant McGill placed 31st in 21:42 and Evan Hammon 33rd ith 21:44. Freshman Issac Jensen placed 35th in 22:35, and fellow freshman runner Alex Lechtenberg finished 42nd with a 25:31 time. Senior Kaleb Kaczor had his best race of the season so far placing 47th with a 29:55 time.
The junior high girls brought home their first medals of the season. Kaci Koenig finished 8th and Addi Janousek finished 9th. Both girls are 8th graders. Lance Kopecky, 7th grade, came across the line in 13th place. No JH times were given with results at the time this article was written.
Boyd County XC competes again on Monday, Sept 19 in Tyndall, SD. Race time is 2pm. They compete again at West Holt on Thursday, Sept 29th.
