On Tuesday April 26th the Jr High Golfers went to Atkinson for the West Holt meet. It was a little cool and windy, but the golfers are used to by now. There were five schools competing: Boyd County, Elkhorn Valley, North Central, Summerland and West Holt. Over fifty golfers competed.
Boyd County’s results are as follows:
- Peyton Wickersham was 10th with a 52.
- John Reiman and Adam Bernt tied for 17th shooting a 60.
The Boyd County Jr High golfers finished their season with a great day hosting the final meet on Thursday the 28th of April. The following studends placed in their home meet:
- Myles Brooks was 11th with a score 48.
- Cash Jockens and Adam Bernt both shot a 49 and tied for 15th.
- Peyton Wickersham shot a 50 for 17th place.
This ends the season for 13 golfers. This year's 8th graders were River Hansen, Madalyn Reiser, Alex Lechtenberg, Amada Davis, Lily Kimnetz, and Kayden Kayl. The 7th graders who will be able to do both track and golf again next year are John Reiman, Adam Bernt, Bryer Almgren, Khloe Gonzales, Myles Brooks, Cash Jockens and Peyton Wickersham.
It was a good season for the Boyd County team. They got to play at four meets, learned the rules, kept a good pace, and became better golfers. The team enjoyed having Autumn Fernau and Linda Zeisler also help them.
