Boyd County golf team has ten members this year. Boyd County has four returning varsity players, Timothy Atkinson, Zander Kluckman, Leah Jockens and Derris Hansen. This year’s team is senior Samatha Heiser, juniors Timothy Atkinson, Zander Kluckman, Leah Jockens, Kyra Gonzales and Kaleb Kaczor, sophomores Derris Hansen and Brynn Almgren, and freshmen Zoe Kaczor and Evan Hammon.
BC golfers started the season at the WH/Stuart/BC triangular in Atkinson on Monday, April 4th and were excited to start the season. It was a nice day but came with a lot of wind. It was a good start for the team. Derris Hansen won the meet with a score of 45. Timothy Atkinson came in second with a 46. Zander Kluckman shot a 56. Leah Jockens ended with a 61 followed by Kyra Gonzales at 68. West Holt won the meet with a 193, followed by Stuart with a 207. The Boyd County team came in nipping at their heels with a 208.
Boyd County JV golfers Kaleb Kaczor, Zoe Kaczor, Evan Hammon and Samatha Heiser also played. Boyd County golfers will see the green again as they join fifteen other teams at the Summerland meet on Wednesday, April 13th.
