March Mammal Madness
April 13, 2022
Boyd County students and staff members took part in the 10th annual March Mammal Madness tournament. Professors from Arizona State University and several others around the country have spent time researching and putting together fighting scenarios between animals from around the world. Animals are put into a bracket much like the March Madness basketball tournament. Students researched the animals that were in the tournament to see what advantages they may have over other animals that would help them win the tournament. This is the 2nd year that Boyd County has participated in the tournament and the battles and outcomes were mostly enjoyed by all with a few exceptions for upsets and animals winning because of other animal interference! Each class had their own category in which they competed against each other for the title of the best bracket.
This year’s winners are: Juliana Cline, Jagger Reiser, Logan Jackson, Will Nelson, Elizabeth Bernt, Brynn Almgren, Samantha Heiser, Hannah Widstrom, and Zander Kluckman. Our staff winner was Mrs. Bernt and our grand champion for 2022 March Mammal Madness with 114/138 total points was Elizabeth Bernt! Congratulations, you have all earned bragging rights for the next year!
