BC Athletes Head to State Track

The Boyd County Track team will have 7 members competing at the state meet on Wednesday and Thursday next week. Chase Snyder will compete in the shot put and discus, which he won at the district meet with tosses of 54’5.5” and 161’3”. Lauryn Hoffman will be in the long jump, 200M, 400M and the 1600M relay. Natasha Zeisler competes in the 3200M and Amelia Hoffman in the Discus. Paige Drueke will run the 800M, the 1600M and the 1600M relay. Jenny Goesch, and Natalie Hausmann will be competing with the 1600M relay.
The Girl’s Team was District Runner-up, missing District Champs by 2 points.
- Lauryn won the long jump with a new school record of 16’6” and she won the 400 meter in 1:03.53. She was 3rd in the 200M at 27.5.
- Paige Drueke won the 800M with a time of 2:34.39 and she won the 1600M at 5:59.44. She also was 5th in the triple jump at 31”0”.
- Natasha Zeisler was 3rd in the 3200M in her personal best time of 13:03.49 and she ran for 4th in the 1600M at 6:16.72.
- Natalie Hausmann was 4th in the 100M in 13.72 and 5th in the 200M at 28.94.
- Jenny Goesch placed 6th in the 100M hurdles with a time of 19.13 and 4th in the 300M hurdles in 53.42.
- Amelia Hoffman placed 2nd in the Discus with a throw of 105’9, she also was 6th in the shot put at 32’4.25”.
- The 1600M relay team of Natalie, Jenny, Lauryn and Paige finished the day off winning in their best time of 4:23.27.
Joshua Kersch was the only other medal winner for the boys team placing 5th in the 800M with a time of 2:18.6.
