FCCLA State Conference
The Boyd County FCCLA chapter has been very successful the past couple days at State Leadership Conference! On Sunday, the Knowledge Bowl team of Sydney Atkinson, Elsie Magwire, Joseph Hiatt, and Kaci Mashino qualified for the live round as the fourth seed. Monday at the business and recognition session they defeated Kearney to advance to the championship! They won the Knowledge Bowl and qualified for nationals for the first time in chapter history, after beating Franklin in the final round! Also at this session our chapter received the Gold Chapter Award and the Nebraska Community Service Award, and National Programs Community Service Award. Our community service award application will be forwarded on to the national level! Tuesday, at the STAR awards program all of our members received recognition for their STAR projects! All 17 members (8 groups) qualified for nationals in Anaheim, California this summer. This is the first time in chapter history all competitors have qualified for nationals!
